Life is short and should not be wasted pursuing the wrong people…
Let’s say you’re 20 years old now and you live in the United States where the average life expectancy is 77.2 years.
This means you only have about 21,000 days to live.
Subtract a third or so of that for sleeping and you’re left with a total of 14,000 days give or take.
Now I don’t wanna discourage you, but man life is actually too short and our time on this planet is very very limited.
So nothing, and I mean nothing is as important as how you utilize your time.
If you have any sense at all of how precious your time is, you won’t waste it.
You won’t let others dictate how you spend it.
You won’t do things that don’t align with your purpose.
And you definitely won’t compromise your values by associating with the wrong crowd.
You are the average of the five people you spend the most of your time with, which makes whom you choose to spend your time with one of the most important life decisions you make every day.
Life is short.
Youth is finite.
And now is the only opportunity you have to make the most out of your life.
Your choices today will determine the number of regrets you will have in your final years.
You could create something.
Make a dent.
And leave a legacy by creating art, making people’s lives better, or solving a problem in your own small way.
But you choose to pursue the wrong people.
You do the things they want to do even when you’d prefer not to.
You force yourself to agree with their opinions and laugh at their jokes.
You rearrange your life for their convenience.
And you put much more effort into the relationship than they do.
Don’t chase such people.
Be yourself, do your own thing and work hard.
The right people, the ones who really belong in your life, will come to you. And stay.
If you’re consistently putting in extra work to keep a relationship together, it’s probably best to let that person go.
Not all relationships are healthy.
Learn to tell the difference.
Beware of people who try to control you, stroke your ego to get what they want, and tell lies.
Watch out for people who ignore you, make you feel guilty, and put you down.
And stay away from people who play the victim or cause you to doubt yourself.
These energy vampires will leave you feeling drained.
Rather than chasing them to make the relationship work, distance yourself.
Chasing such people is a waste of your time and effort.
There’s nothing wrong with you.
Some people love you just the way you are, and some don’t.
You don’t need to change a thing.
Always remember that you don’t need to explain yourself or prove anything to anyone.
If they can’t accept you for you, then it’s time to fucking move on.
